Many moons ago, as an active RO, you organised a TVR group at Prescott for the hillclimb school. Grand weekend, learned nothing - but what's new.

I digress, see this link.

We've already booked. Be nice to see a group of classic Tivs there to join us. It's already posted on one of the Car Club regional forums but it looks like there is still plenty of capacity for a load of old uns to go and play. biggrin

Bugger, looks like a good day out, but I won't be ready. Also pretty sure my Mazda won't qualify as a 'particularly interesting vehicle'.

Looks like it might be a good couple of days out... Is there a lower age limit on the drivers as well or would you be happy with a relatively young 'un coming along? tongue out

I understand it was intended initially as a pre-80s type thing, but I'm sure newer cars will be welcome.

Glad to hear it wink. Unfortunately, it now looks as though I won't be able to make it on the Saturday, but might try and get up there for the Sunday bash. I can assure you that both car and driver are pre-1980s.......

Hi Krispy,

hope you and car(s) are well.

Vixen is coming along nicely. Almost finished the wiring loom, then she'll start and drive!

Wedge is looking forward to a summer of fettling too...

Is he getting soft in his old age then? As an ARSE I thought that one of the membership criterion was that the hood must never be raised at any time?

Forgot to put this up, fantastic day.

Details for next year

PRESCOTT HILL CLIMB OPEN CLASSIC CAR EVENT May 9/10 2009
Supported by Sebring International , GMF Motor Factors ,Longstone Tyres and Autoglym

Cheltenham Cleeve Vale Rotary Club invites classic car owners to an event to be held on the weekend of 9th and 10th May 2009. The event is open to all pre-1980 vehicles but exceptions may be made at the discretion of the organisers for particularly interesting vehicles.

Sunday 10th will be devoted to display and driving the famous hill, with passengers if you wish, in marshalled but un-timed runs. Un-timed runs eliminate the need for crash helmets and the full gamut of safety equipment etc. However vehicles must have valid road tax, MOT and insurance documentation. The Paddock entry fee is £46 per car [inclusive of 2 runs up the hill all passengers and a souvenir programme]. Entries are limited to 200. Additional runs if available will be £5 each.

As before we will also be having a static display in a designated area of the Orchard for classic, vintage and special vehicles.. For those who wish we will also be repeating the gentle cavalcades up the hill so that vehicles can be displayed in motion to the attending public. We feel this significantly enhances the presentation of the superb range of vehicles expected. The Orchard [static] entry fee is £18 per car which includes all passengers , a free programme and at least one cavalcade drive up the hill.

Block bookings by Clubs will be particularly welcome and we will endeavour to park such groups together on Sunday
On Saturday we are offering a 60 mile Cotswold tour starting and finishing at Prescott, where at the end there will be a cuppa and homemade cake.
