Only had my car a week now and it's been fabulous until i noticed yesterday that my drivers side footwell was swimming in water.

I know this is one of those (they all do that, sir) moments but as it only left the dealers a week ago and they assured me it would get a comprehensive preflight check i would have thought all seals etc would have been checked.

I know its not major but it certainly gives you the i've bought a lemon feeling

I notice that in your original post you half expected this? If I were you I would run it back to teh dealer and ask them to take a good look at the usual places where water can get in. There are a number of areas where silicon sealant is required and they will have experience of where these are. (they are a TVR dealer yes?) Basically if all is sealed and the window edges aligned with the roof etc. they shouldn't leak. Rich...

bad luck mate. we're all human, eh?
mistakes happen, and sometimes if you're not looking for something specifically......

anyhow, it's nothing that can't be sorted, though i appreciate it may have taken the smile off your face.

the smile will come back

suggest you get the vax out and enjoy it ( in the dry though, eh?) until the dealer can do it - it'll help you remember why you bought it.

Mine did exactly the same a couple of weeks after getting it from a main dealer. Get the footwell carpets out, hang them up to dry and park the car on an incline overnight (nose down) so as much water as possible collects on the floorpan so you can mop it up in the morning. Once the excess water has drained from the rest of the carpets I used Kleenex to try dry out the rest of the carpets but a vax or dehumidifier is best.

Meantime, put a call into the dealer & they'll hopefully fix the problem easy enough. I got mine from Christopher Neil's & they were only too happy to sort it out pronto. They re-did the seals under the bonnet & bulkhead areas, and renewed the roof seals just in case. They also fixed a few other niggles I'd noticed, dried out the interior & valeted the car to boot. All FOC. Despite the downpoor this week the car stayed bone dry. Very impressed.
