Good place to eat on Feb 14th

There are a couple of places I know of. I guess for Valentines Day, you want something a little more upmarket - for "upmarket" read pricey

If you like Japanese Tapenyaki, then I recommended Ah-So on Price of Wales road. It's not private, as the tables are about 8 persons, as the meal is, of course, cooked at your table. Great food, great atmosphere and nice people. It works out to about £50 per head + drinks.

Something a little more private is the fish restaurant Lock Fyne on St Giles Street. It's still a busy restaurant, but the food is fantastic. It;s been about 3 years since I went, so I can't remember how much it was.

Then there are three others I know of, although I've not been to any of these restaurants yet.
Tatlers, in Tombland, is said to be good.
One of my friends works at By Appointment on St Georges Street. He says the food is fantastic, something confirmed by other people I've spoken to.
Also on St Georges Street (next to the Playhouse) is The Last Wine Bar. It looks upmarket and private.

I'd second Tatlers and By Appointment.
If you're near Brundall the Lavendar House is nice, although I've not been to for a while.
Further out, the Racecourse Inn, Rackheath was nice when I went there a late last year.
If you get as far as Lowestoft, The Flint House is one of the best meals I've had in years considering the price, although the wine list was not as good.

I've heard good things about Dimitri's Restaurant @ St Giles House http://www.stgileshouse.com/.
Went to Tatler's year before last and the food was really good.
And if you're feeling flush there is always Adlards http://www.adlards.co.uk/.
