On the way home last week I passed a camera van but by the time I'd seen it I'd have been in range. As I was driving a pool car at the time I'm wondering how this could turn out.

The registered owner of the car is the company I work for & presumably they would be sent the NIP. Does anyone know if the company has to get me to complete it or if they can complete the details and send it off without me knowing. I don't want to ask the company for obvious reasons!

If he was driving a pool car, wouldn't the company return the NIP sayings "Its our car and peepett was driving it"

Yeah, same difference, they will state who was operating the car and then they write again saying please confirm its you.

And then you get an NIP which you send back unsigned?

If your pool car is like our pool vans, then just don't fill in the log.

If the log is blank at the time of the incident, it could have been anyone driving it.

Thanks guys, unfortunately you have to sign the log before they hand you the keys, so I can't get out of it that way!

Thanks Plotloss, so I would have to 'complete' the form myself?

Is it the same difference though? With a company car they send the NIP to the registered keeper which is the company or lease company. They return it saying the car is leased to x. The car might be insured to be driven by x, their partner etc, so the company won't know who is driving. Therefore the NIP has to be re-issued x who then has to state who is driving.

With a pool car though there should be a record of who was driving it, and therefore the company can complete th NIP saying X was driving.

Therefore x cannot use the non-signing route as they have already been named.
