Any BMW people 'in the know' about the 1 series tii??

Hi,

After seeing the tii concept last year, I placed a theoretical order on one with a small refundable deposit (should it be made, I'm one of the first in the queue blah blah..).. they initially wouldn't take it, but a few weeks after they got the OK from BMW to proceed indicatiing there would be a tii of sorts.

But since there is all manner of conflicting information being banded about. The dealer is being as helpful as he can, as far as I can tell, but seemingly there's not been much to tell. Looking on other forums, people with so called 'insider knowledge' give varying ideas. Thus far I've seen:

• it's going to be a limited run car with a 2.0T
• it's going to be a trim level between SE and M
• it's going to be a catalogue of performance bits, so you just pick and choose which you want (spoiler, wheels, brakes etc.)

Has there been anything internally within BMW to give an idea if/what/when? I suspect there will be a few petrol additions to the line up in the next few months, could there be something coming then?

It's have to be very special to be limited to say a couple of thousand units. If it was limited I doubt you'd get much spec choice. The trim level would be either SE or M-Sport not a combination of the two imo.

I wouldn't really care about Spec if it was a limited run, so long as it looks roughly like the concept inside & out and has a decent engine. I've got a 25th Anniversary GTI, so I'm used to a small options list.

Latest BMW (ie from BMW AG) magazine says the tii is a concept only. Fingers crossed tho
