In the market for 456M GT - any recommendations/ suggestions on who to speak with about sourcing and who (preferably) not to speak with? Any angles are appreciated.

Bought my 456MGT from Rardley Motors about 6 months back. They're local to me, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. Speak to Mike Wheeler - he must have sold about 20 456's in the last year - they have them in for a week at most and then they fly out the door! They're excellent value for money at the minute. Good luck in your search.

Elms has a good rep, as do Verdi and Nick Cartwright. I spoke with all three when I was looking for a 355 and I found Elms and Verdi to be friendly and amiable, but somewhat unmotivated in terms of selling me a car. Verdi, especially were very helpful/friendly on the phone, but were very-much of the attitude 'just keep checking our website for cars'. Seems they sell the majority of their cars on SOR. I spoke with Nick Cartwright on a couple of occasions and, although he has a good reputation, I found him to come across as somewhat arrogant and defensive on the phone, so it went no further; he made me feel like I was wasting his time, even though I was a serious purchaser and was asking very valid questions about his cars. I ended-up buying privately from a very nice chap up North and don't have a single regret; the car's fantastic.

Cheers,
Ian.

What are those 456 GTs like to drive? Always like the look for them, but I got the impression they're a bit light on the back end when I once saw a review on 'Driven'. How do they compare with a 355, or are they more like a BMW/Merc coupe sort of thing to drive?

Hey G, still smiling after the test drive? See there's an old thread picking up again on running costs of a 456.

Thanks - is this Geoff of Foskers at Brands Hatch? Have spoken briefly with him and know he is able carry out pre-purchase inspections if he does not himself carry the relevant stock.

Only problem with a 456 is that its priced too close to one of the best...A 550 but if you must have your kids with you when you drive your supercar..... Check out an M5 and save some dosh.
