Hi,

Can anyone recommend me an Off Road Driving Course within 150 miles of London?

I was thinking Protrax at Stamford or the Land Rover Experience.

Looking for 2-3 day course with lots of driving time.

Thanks.

4x4 adventures based in teh southwest. Have done a number of days with him, as has the missus, and our driving has improved immeasurably- they did the basics with the missus (who raved about them) and i did advanced winching, jacking and recovery. Often does full day "drive round days" where you cover a hugeamount of gorund off road, but in a guided atmoshpere- have done a few of these and they are truly truly brilliant.

Their contact details are at http://www.4x4adventures.co.uk/_main/home.htm , owner is a chap called James, if you phone him tell him that pugwash recommended you (he might give me a discount next time i go out with him!)

have done a couple of Land rover experience course and they are just that- you "experience" a land rover, they really don't "teach" you anything per se.

If you want to be properly and safely trained then you have to look at Lantra courses which i beleive 4x4 adventures do!

I've done a one-day course at Protrax for about £200 which was brilliant - and it will be only you driving not a group of 6 people like some courses!!! And tou do drive ALL of the time as well - and do get taught a lot rather than just an 'experiance'. I'm sure they will tailor a course to your requirements. And it's only 70 miles up the A1 from the big smoke! I should imaging the LR Experiance is more expensive - and I believe it's a group activity!
