High beam fuse?

Hi, wonder if anyone can tell me what rating the high beam fuse should be?
Its currently got a 10 amp fitted, but has blown twice just last night.
Now it could just be the damp (we had enough rain!), but I changed the fuse and it worked for part of my 20 mile journey, then blew again.
Im not sure if thats due to the fuse rating and I cant find a reference to what should be fitted, but Im sure its not a short or it simply would blow as soon as you use full beam.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I take it you are referring to the fuse in the relay?
I am running 30amp fuses in each of mine.

Hi Steve, Im a bit clueless, but where you remove the plate to gain access to the fuse panel in front of the passenger footwell (access is by tipping the bonnet foreward & unscrewing the allen bolts). That bank of fuses there -its a 10 amp (red fuse).

OK that is most likely fuse 5 which supplies the headlight dip/high beam relay.
The relay in turn supplies two main beam relays which have inbuilt 30 amp fuses.
What I don't quite understand is how any of your headlights work if fuse 5 blows. Maybe the relay defaults to dip if fuse 5 is blown.

Next is why that fuse should blow.
Fuse 5 supplies:-
Horn
Headlight dip/high beam relay
Cigar lighter
Interior light
Indicators

You may want to check if any of those circuits are taking more than they were designed for. For instance are you driving dash LCD displays and computers etc off that circuit?
Fuse 5 is supplied from a permanent +12v so try pulling that fuse and checking what else in the car no longer works which may give a clue as to why the circuit is overloaded.
