I saw something a couple of months ago about getting the baffles removed to make a nicer noise than standard. If I do this,
(a) will it still pass an MOT?
(b) Will a main dealer do this while they have the exhaust off for the 12,000 mile service (next week), (c) will I be able to keep the baffles for refitting (d) any performance difference?

IHMO: (a) Yes, it will still pass an MOT because the emissions will be unchanged - you haven't removed the cats. AFAIK db is not an MOT requirement though watch it on trackdays. (b) Almost certainly - the going rate is about £80 I think. (c) I doubt it, but why would you want to refit them? (d) No.

Taking the baffles out is (again IMHO) the cheapest way to make you car sound like a proper car!

Edited to say: having read of your troubles with the new chip, well, don't take it to a Subaru specialist again, it ain't a Subaru. Take it to a TVR specialist!

Thanks, I will probably ask Kerridges to do the exhaust on my service next week.....as for the chipping thing, I am going to get in touch with Mark Adams and see what he can do for me. Even though he supplied the chip before, it was a 'best guess' one and failed to work.
