Its all gone a bit blue!

Well,
It started with me wanting to upgrade my sidelights to LED sidelights.
These were described as "Bright white xenon look with a slight blue tint":



I think blue with a slight tint of blue describes them better!

My concearn is it looks chav, might cheepen the look of the car and not to mention I might have problems with the old boys in blue.

What do you think please guys?

Anyone want to buy some LED bulbs?

Wouldn't an MOT tester be able to tell you - after all he's got to either pass or fail it on this issue and if he passes it and it's not legal he could find himself in hot water.

Same happened to me. I took them out and rubbed the blue coating off the bulbs and put them back in. Looks ok now.

Interestingly enough the blue light emitted with this sort of lamp is one of the worst performing in terms of human night vision efficency.

So even if its the same wattage etc you won't be able to see as well

I agree with most people they are little too blue (as seen on many Chav Corsa's)

Personally I`d take some of the blue off to get a 'hint' of blue

By what means is the level of blue measured? What is the definition of a 'tint' - is it a ratio of blue to white?

New "White" LED bulbs now ordered (rather than "Xenon White"

Should arrive tomorrow and hopefully won't look anywhere near as blue.
