These two hotels are still available for the dates when I'm off to the ring (I've already booked one of them) Are there any ringers here who can offer advice on which is the best hotel for access to the ring and nearby restaurants/bars etc?

Also, if I stay at Hotel An Der Nordschleife, I believe there is ring access there, but will I get a full lap or will I have to come off at the main entrance.. how does that work?

Any advice is much appreciated.

No brainer - Ringhaus every time. It's about 200yds from the main car park, have workshop facilities and hire cars, and Frank and the guys could not be more helpful.

Stayed at Hotel An Der Nordschleife a couple of times, Its cheap very clean, Eddy is OK, food not very inspirational but Adenau Town is only 20mins walk.
Never used the entrance there and I may be wrong byt I do not think it is always open either.

Everything is SO close don’t worry about access to the ring / shops / bars etc.

The entrance at Hotel An Der Nordschleife doesn’t get you a full lap [about 75%], good viewing point here though.

Just go to either and don’t worry about it.

Never been to Ringhaus but can highly recomment An Der Norhschliefe - Eddy is a good guy and his dad(?) has given the best service of any hotel I've been too. Ever! He even insisted on carrying all our luggage out to the car when we left. Top bloke. And it's lovely waking up and looking out on Breidscheid.

Stayed at Ringhaus once. Frank's a good guy... place is cheap and cheerful, clean, 200yds from circuit entrance and he's got GT4 on the playstation in the bar! Downside is a 10-15mins (depending on alcohol intake) walk from the Pistenklause and the steak on a stone! Probably quite a pleasant walk in the summer... not so in November! Would quite happily stay there again.
Cheers

Stayed at An Der Nordschliefe a few times and always found it to be a good hotel, clean rooms , good parking, and a good breakfast spread. Most of the hotels in the area tend to be well run a clean as they rely on word of mouth like any other business for trade.

It's worth remembering, if you join the circuit at Adenau, you can buy a lap and a half ticket, so you can race round to the main entrance & go straight back out to do a full lap.

Ringhaus it is then! I've looked on both websites, also taken other peoples advice and I reckon the Ringhaus has more to offer. I first opted for An Der Nordschliefe because it was right next to the ring entrance... but didn't realise it wasn't the main entrance (first timer..) Thanks for all the advice. Roll on 20th July....

Just booked up, you'd have problems getting anywhere else in a large party as everywhere seems full early July (9th~14th). Eddy was a top guy last year, but unfortunatly couldn't help this year but Frank has sorted us out with the Aremberg suit which can take up to 10 people! biggrin
