I notice that the Emerald ECU has a feature that's for the immobiliser on a Rover K series engine.
Exactly what does it do?
I am guessing that it's something to do with a chip in the key.
Could this be used to upgrade the security on the Griff?

I had a little look at this... As far I can see, its a special link designed to work with the standard system on a Lotus so wouldn't work with any other system. I think it just takes a command from the Lotus immobiliser to lock the ECU so the car absolutely cannot be started without the unlock code: looks like one more thing to go wrong TBH and with a triple-immobilised system already in place with black cabling, you're unlikely to need anything else anyway!

Err, I think you know what you mean, but I'm not sure I do.
