Swirl pot Radiator cap.

So sorry to open this can of worms again!!!

In short, like a numpty, i drove away without replacing the cap and lost it.

I have bought a replacement Sky parts fc53, the parts number bears a striking resemblance to the QH fc53 quoted in other threads.

My Question...its rated at 15lbs...is that correct? and i have to fashion a seal for the top part awell, from inner tube, correct?

For the record, pressure cap on swirl pot, flat cap on expansion tank here.

15lbs is correct, make sure its the long neck type so it can reach the lower neck of the inside of the filler (you will know when you put it on and have to press firmly before turning). You dont HAVE to make you own seal as the cap should have one already but I found an extra seal worked a treat on my old S3 (inner tube). The top of the swirl pot tends to get distorted after a while so it doesnt make the best seal. Before fitting give the top a rub down with some very fine paper for a nice seal.

bought the same for my tiv Matt, didn't come with an inner seal though so bought an inner tube from Halfrauds and made one to size. Works a treat as well
