Hi Ron byebye
I'm hoping to get to the Cheddar meet this weekend so won't be able to make it. I'm not having anything done to the Griff though - it's SORNed. It's booked in for service, MOT, etc mid March so I can get back on the road for April Fools Day. biggrin

Batley Boy,

I fitted an ACT Cherry Bomb system to my 400 Chimaera at the weekend and have to say it sounds even better in reality than the U tube MP4.

Just before I fitted it, I looked at the bombs and thought that it was going to be soooooo loud and wondered whether I had made a wrong call, but as it turned out it sounds fab and I am over the moon with it.

It is a nice noise but interestingly not loud or boomey in the car which is strange. It fitted ok but needed a bit of a tweek once fitted in the car.

Best of luck.

It gives a deeper exhaust note, which is not very much louder than the standard exhaust. Not too loud for longer journeys, of very good quality and highly recommended. If you need more noise remove pre/main cat.

Yeah same with mine, they were recorded on a camera-phone and as such don't even nearly do it justice! Its 'offensively loud' in real life and sets off plenty of car alarms though surprisingly doesn't annoy me on the motorway (on which I have done several '000 miles since putting it on). Great mod, highly recommended - plus Tim is a top bloke, great to deal with thumbup

Hmm got mine sitting waiting to go on, not too impressed with the end tubes of the exhaust as the tube seam is on the visible part( on the top ) rather than on the underneath. Is this the same on everyone elses or am I my being too picky

Can't say i've noticed it before, although I now have a set of tail pipe extenders from ACT to go on the end so I wouldn't see anyway...! If it does bug you that much though the extenders are great, I got them to stop the carbon rings forming on the paint around the exhausts (decat) but as an added bonus, they look fantastic! Slightly bigger bore, very shiney and stick out a bit further (more like a Cerb) which looks so much better IMHO.

Hi Nick, don't suppose you have a picture of the extenders do you? They sound good!

I don't have any at the moment and the car is currently at Emerald in Norfolk but it should be back in a week so I can get some then if you like? You might want to pm me in a week to remind me but i'll do my best to beat my sieve-like memory! IIRC they were about £40 from Tim who had them made up by JP. I've had them on since summer now and have only heard positive remarks from other owners thus far..!

Ok thanks, when you get a chance! I suppose they don't offer any performance enhancement, just the reduced risk of paint burning and cosmetic enhancment?

Exactly, i'd be very surprised if they were to improve performance, but they do stop the carbon getting onto the paint which is the main reason I got them! I'll get some photos up asap for you thumbup

I actually have the ACT Cherry Bomb exhaust fitted. I agree with the general comments; the sound is deeper (and more pops and bangs also). I just wanted a good sound clip of the system, as I want to send one by email.
I like the concept of the pipe extenders.........can you email me pics when you have them Nick?
