looking to put sports exhaust on my 2000 996 c4. my friend has the factory one on his c4s and says it sounds great. should i go for the porsche one with the on/off button or can anyone recommend another make that does the job better? also any ideas as to the cost of retrofitting by porsche main dealer?

I bought the Porsche PSE. I had it installed by a non-dealer for 2 hours of labor ($160 US Dollars). I paid $1295 USD for the exhaust because I did a group buy of 10 units. I LOVE it. It sounds great and I like having a part that was tested and engineered by Porsche. I did not install the switch to quiet it as it was an additional 8 hours of labor; mine is on all the time.

You can try www.carnewal.com for good prices.

Thanks

Kagey, I haven't heard the Porsche sports system BUT I think the on off switch is a great idea. I had a sports exhaust system on a previous 996 & whilst it sounded fantastic when pressing on over B roads, it was a pain in town, too loud & too Maxpower-ish !!
