Mostly taken with a 55-200 Tamron on my 400D. Venue is Daytona Speedway for the practice and qualifying sessions for this weekends Rolex 24. C&C appreciated:

The best of about 300 odd photos there. A lot of failed efforts got deleted straightawy - panning is hard!

And also saw/met a couple of famous Brit drivers:

Derek Bell:

Dan Wheldon:

And finally there was a distinct lack of pit-babes on a practice day, but there was the occassional bit of eye-candy biggrin

They look bloody good to me (first goes or not). thumbup

I'd just clone out the yellow cap from the #5 and zoom in a lot more on the last one.

I like how you used the rule of thirds on the totty shot

Cheers! Funnily enough I got CS3 on my way home from Orlando, so need the practice material...

Mostly around 1/50th. Anything I tried with a lower speed didn't work out due to camera shake or just plain not tracking the car smoothly. The Exif data for them is available from the originals on flickr.

FANTASTIC panning. Throwing away is the norm, and why digital is great. Very impressed. Bet they look great when shown huge

Love the totty shot - great top. smile

A little C. & C. on the 'totty' shot.

I would have prefered it to have been a little more over-exposed
and next time try 'aperture priority'

Great panning on the cars BTW!!

Just as a suggestion - you can give the motion/speed impression a bit more by tiltingthe frame slightly - I think making the car look it is going 'downhill' is the better way but either makes the shot a bit different.

Great pics - just my 2p worth!

I really like this one - reminds me of the old Parnelli Jones Trans-am Mustang.

I've got a panning setting on my compact which I've been trying out today - no results as good as that though.... frown
