So I was in Edwards in Manchester, buying some shoes (Jeffery West, in case you care!) when a fellow mentioned that someone was driving a Bugatti round Deansgate. Thinking it probably wasn't a Type 51, I went hunting, and sure enough parked outside Habitat...

Talk about pulling a crowd. Two women asked me what kind of car it was and I replied 'Bugatti Veyron'. 'How much does that cost?' - you should have seen the look on their faces when they were told it was £900k.

Must be rubbish to own a 57 plate Maybach 57S (fitting) and have nobody stare at it ;-)

Does anyone on here own this particular one? It's the same one I saw at the Ferrari Racing Days at Silverstone in June (number plate and colour combo gives it away), was a bit surprised to see it in Deansgate especially as I've only lived in Manchester for a few weeks! What're the odds on seeing the same Veyron twice? Someone thought the owner was brave for actually using it/parking it up, but as I said to a chap next to me, 'If anyone touched it they'd be lynched by the mob!' Good on them for actually using their car.

He was, but I don't think it was his - there was a fellow from one of the racing teams asking if it was so-and-sos, think I'd remember if it was Senna but I could, of course, be very wrong.

It's owned by a the brother of a certain infamous gumballer I believe, here it is in the gumball 3000 garage:

It was never used in the gumball if it was the same car, however theres also another one around in the same colour owned by another lucky individual wink

Edit: It is definitely one of the Gumball participants, he also owns the 722 next to it wink

Looks like the best plate to spot a Veyron is Deansgate. Was that not where B1(Blue/Black) was spotted very soon after the launch of them?

Hi there,

Certainly wasn't Bruno Senna driving the car when it arrived a Silverstone on the Saturday during the racing Days event.

Got loads of pics of the car as it arrived at Silverstone and also when it was parked up. Think the owner is something to do with one of the race teams as he was dressed in Ferrari racing jacket.

Heres a pic of the car negotiating a speed bump on its arrival: -

and also parked in the paddock: -

This car has also been seen at Oulton Park a couple of times last year, not far from Manchester and would certainly confirm the racing connection.

No, Kevin Stanfords was the one which actually competed in Gumball 3000, Black on Black:

The other one just stood in the garage apparently for quite a while...

Heres a view from behind, Bul5 is Oliver Morley's incase anyone didn't get the hint smile, I'm sure Stanfords was on Belgian plates...

Hi there,

The Black on Black one was also at the Racing Days event. It arrived along with an Enzo which had a KS number plate. Both of these cars were wearing similar decals although the Bugatti had a foreign number plate (Luxembourg I think).

Tim, looks like all the sticker marks from Gumball came off quite well then, it makes the thread on the veyron dust thats currently going on look irrelevent!

Great pictures as always, same car I reckon. I think stanford also owned the 60's and 70's Ferraris at the start of this years Gumball, too much money going around at that event if you ask me...

Wonder which would have drawn the bigger crowd if you had taken the Zonda instead?
