It's been a well know fact that run of the mill cars have their engines loosen up after a few thousand miles, so not surprised.
Makes a bit of a mockery of the mileage having such an effect on the price of some cars don't you think?
Horacio Pagani said in an Evo interview about the Zonda F's recent 'Ring record attemp that he was disapointed not to have a car with 20,000+ miles under its wheels as the engines are stronger and develop more BHP than a new engine.Makes a bit of a mockery of the mileage having such an effect on the price of some cars don't you think?
The correlation between price and mileage on modern Ferraris and Lamborghinis is all wrong. A new Gallardo or 430 is just as capable of handling big mileages as Porsches yet anyone who dares to buy one and actually use it will get spanked on resale.
A pal of mine has recently been shopping for a Murcie - we discussed this the other day and he confirmed that the two "higher mileage" cars he drove (one was 22k and one was 28k) felt markedly more powerful and significantly faster than the three low miles cars (one 5k and two 7k) ones that he drove.
He e-mailed me today to say he bought the 22k one! - it was the "right colour" (Orange!) and he said it made sense becasue it was cheaper than the other cars but felt all the better for being used!
So it seems Lambo's improve with age and miles eh!
