Hi guys:
Does any one knows what might be for the Engine
coolant light to turn red? (it once turned green, but I
added some coolant and the problem was solved), The
water temperature seems normal.

Thank for any help

Calvin - the coolant light turns red when you have low coolant level. I think it also will flash if you have excessive high coolant temperature. Its all covered in your owners manual.

cheers

Check for a disconnected header tank sensor wire. If the connection is bad or comes unpluged from the spade connector it displays such a indicator on my car although it is a 4 cyl.

finally my car is fixed,it turns out to be the sensor, I took it out from the coolant tank, clean it with water and shake a little bid to loose the stucked float sensor.

Thanks you all guys !

If the sensor is all gunked up the coolant must be nasty. You did change the coolant in the system???

Since only Calvin said what year and model Lotus he has then I will tell about my '89 non-SE light coming on. When the temperature reaches 80 C the light starts to flicker then comes on steady. When I rev the engine, the light goes out but comes back on when I back off of the gas. I flushed and changed the coolant and put in a new low level sensor, after cleaning the contacts with Stabilant.

I have jiggled the sensor wires and still the light comes on. Interestingly, if I warm up the engine but not drive it, the light does not come on!!

I put the No 15 chip in the ECM and afterward, starting getting this light problem. Don't know if there is any connection.

Also, is there a way to change the temp at which the fans come on? That current 93 C value bothers me.

That is really strange. Change back to the old chip and see if it still does that.
