Need a little help here as working blind without any workshop manual. Have tried the usual source for a download but without luck.
Can anyone tell me which way round the drag strut bush fits when fitting a poly bush, ie lip of poly bush to the front and thin washer at the back or vice verca.
thanks
Richard

Cheers guys, great answer. I wish I'd taken a few more pics before I sent the arms for blasting!

You might find something on here to 'jog your memory' next time. Richard

Cheers Tim, great pics. Strangely on stripping down nothing was siezed except
for the lower ball joint M8 allen bolts which ended up with various scrap 6mm allen keys welded to the heads. Then to loosen them used a long piece of tubing as a lever.
BTW took a full day to strip nearside front and rear suspension, 3 hours to do the other side! Thats a learning curve.
Many thanks

I've got pictures of the whole process of fitting the Poly-bushes to the front of Cerb ..... but I can't find them anywhere.
I'll search again during the coming week to see if I can find them and post them here.
Fitting the Ploy-bushes, along with a new set of suspension bolts, has really transformed the handling on the front of my car.
After taking ages to decide if it would be worth doing it or not, I'm really glad I did it.
I still haven't got around to doing the rear ones. Soon.

Hi Rich,
One thing to take in to account, I have just fitted poly bushes to my cerb and I have had to have the inside locator on the big washers turned down as they don't fit in to the sleeve that runs through the centre of the poybush, the diameter is smaller than on the original.
Ohhhhh, that's interesting, just going to check, if that's the case, I think Powerflex should be contacted and foot the bill to sort it out, along with making sure they fit in future. I blame longbow myself. <--- it was his suspension that helped develop the kit I believe.Tim
Okay, have just checked my 'bits'.
There seems to be a 0.10mm discrepancy in size, 20.59 ID & 20.69 OD, and to add to the confusion the inner sleeve, isn't even, one end the spacer fits snugly whilst the other will probabally go, 'with a little persuasion'! I think a bit of time and emery paper should sort it, but it will allow rust into the steel washer.
BTW, for anyone else's ref' the Powerflex part number for this bush kit is: PFF79-104.

What is wrong with getting them pressed out? I would think burning them out would affect the metal if it got too hot.
Have you tried pressing them out? After close to 10 tons of pressure they still didn't move.
However ..... after a small bit of a naked flame they just pop out.
The instructions in the boxes even suggest burning them out (except I didn't read that 'til I'd tried everything else).
And the metal doesn't get too hot so it's not affected.
Had all bushes except the rear uprights pressed out. The uprights were burnt then cut out as the press tool failed at a rather high pressure! Everything off for blasting and powder coating which should be better than the original. Peeled all coating off one upright with a blunt chisel to reveal bright but totally unprepared steel. I take it blasting before coating was omitted in Blackpool. Have to say it all came apart easily, everthing being copa-slipped on assembly, only one lower rear ARB link being siezed. Would that be the factory or rather the FSH the car has?
