Kuredu, Reethi Beach (x2), Baros and Royal Island in last five years.
Kuredu - water villas were new, great accomodation down to pretty tacky old villas, island was overbooked (>600 guests) and generally overcrowded especially round pool, but has diving and all manner of watersports, don't go by dhoni unless you want five hours transfer, but if you go by seaplane (30 minutes) your luggage goes separately, don't go without plenty of protection from the sand flies (fleas)
Reethi Beach - most friendly place, some accomodation was a bit tired but has been revamped since, great food, there's diving and a great house reef to explore, small pool that was rarely busy, well swept so not to much sand fly trouble
Baros - nice accomodation, run like clockwork by some Swiss GM - even a tsunami didn't stop much - bit cliquey, pricey, many go back though, 20 min speedboat ride from airport
Royal Island - owned by local company, own lounge in seaplane terminal, bit pricey, lovely and unspoilt though, accomodation pretty much top-notch for Maldives, good house reef, kept very clean, paved and well swept, entertaining room boys, but very efficient, doctor on island is great!

Check out this place. The link takes you to the underwater spa page
Have you been there? It used to be Nakatchafushi before being rebuilt and was my favourite place in the world

I was there about 10 years ago and if there was 100 people on the island it would be the most we saw.. No pool nor water villas when I was there. Guess it's just got over commercialised. I hear it's an all inclusive place now.
I would be shocked to go back there and see the changes..

They also have a superb catamaran which takes guests island-hopping and stargazing.

Veligandu was the island - we always wanted to go back, but having seen the changes, we won't

went to maldives for honeymoon in October last year. Absolutely amazing. Went to Hilton Rangali resort - pretty much could not fault it.
I could not think of a better place to go on a honeymoon.
We went to I could not think of a better place to go on a honeymoon.
Laguna beach in March 06

great island .....a lot cheaper if you book from Russia !! ( cost $1500 for 2 HB) worth taking the ferry to Bolifushi for great reefs very close to MALE so only 30 minutes by boat !!
and had our honeymoon in March 07 at Filitheyo Island Resort Thomas cooke AI upgrade on the plane well worth it its an 8 hr flight
food was great different themes every day
better than Laguna , island was more relaxed great diving
( dont do the PADI dives !!! )
Worth taking your own mask / snorkel . flippers , you can hire but the cost mounts up and you pay for damage at $100.
I would book AI. soft drinks are expensive if you go Half board.
Upgrade your flight
Alcohol not allowed and will be confiscated at the airport only allowed on the resort.
one other thing when you go snorkling .......and you see one of these beauties

SWIM THE OTHER WAY
trust me !!
