WEBSITE COUNTERS - Advice Please

Hi there

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a free tool to which i could download to analyse the traffic going to my site, as there is no-where i can put in any html i cannot use google analytics or anything like.

So is there something out there that will count the visits but doesnt involve putting any tracking code onto the site.

If you have access to your raw http logs, you can use awstats or some similar program to analyse (that looks incorrectly spelt to me...) those logs.

You dont have access to your own site's html? Do you not have a CPanel or a vDeck? these always have in built stats.

Are you sure that there is no where for the Google Analytics code?

I use Analytics on my current site (and have in the past on other sites) - it's not always simple to spot where to put it for an IT doofus like me, but I understand it can always be done...

I'd contact your web designer & tell (or maybe ask politely ) them that you want the code on your site

Hey i have a control panel and it says forum stats but only info about posts, and number of users etc

I'm using phpbb on a free service at the moment as i want to see if it actually works before putting it on something like ipboard or somthing.

Just hack the footer template of phpBB and add the google analytics code, it's very basic stuff.
