I said I'd post this up, but can't locate the original thread.
Anyway, possibly the bargain of the month. I decided to give a pair of Falkens a try on the rear, and after some shopping around located them on mytyres.co.uk for a cost of.......£107 each delivered.
Fitting was an extra £15 each plus VAT.
I should point out that I can only recommend mytyres if you have the patience of a saint and are not remotely interested in a customer service setup which in any way understands you or your needs. Delivery was painfully slow, and calls to the customer services line, which had a UK number but was in Germany, brought only a bemused lack of understanding at why you would possibly want your new tyres with any haste whatsoever. For example:
Me: Why haven't my tyres been delivered?
Them: Well, I can see that we have them in the warehouse, so I'll book a pair out to be sent to you
This was about 4 days after I ordered them, the implication being that they didn't despatch until I called to query.
However, £107 isn't to be sniffed at, and whilst I don't want this to turn into yet another "my tyres (pun unintended) are better than yours because I paid more for them" thread, I have to say that on the back of only a couple of hundred miles so far, they feel fine and seem to grip very well - but that's compared to a set of worn-out Pirellis.

I too have Falken 452s fitted on the rear and they are easily as good as the Bridgestones I had on there before.
