Pistonhead stickers
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Thinking about getting some pistonhead stickers from the shop on the main page.
Was going to stick them on the swingarm of the DRZ.
Anyone done this already on their bike? Did it look good or sh*te? Any pics? What size to go for?
Might also get some for the ZX7R to tart it up a bit.

I have two of these on the back of the topbox of the Bandit.

However they are not very sticky! Had to superglue them on - as otherwise they came off in the jetwash.

I got it about 5 years ago maybe. I'd spent the summer commuting down to southampton and got utterly f*cked off with arriving with wet kit. I tried panniers, tank bags, panniers with bin liners, tank bags with bin liners, etc and none proved themselves to be totally waterproof after an hour so I got one. I know it looks wank but honestly, the convenience of just packing a rucksack and chucking it in the boot leaving you free to climb about the bike is brilliant. Been handy on two trips to france too. Possibly the sensible option would be to buy a sensible commuter but I love my blade to bits and it's a fantastic commuting bike.

yeah would like to see the blade with a top box
I was considering some sort of luggage for the GSX-R600 but a top box had not even occurred.
Was it difficult to fit?

That's when the box was new and the bike was quite new... it really doesn't look like that now

This is what it looks like now...

It was quite easily to fit, fiddly I guess because I had to take the rear seat pod off but givi did a kit for the rack for that bike so just a case of lining it all up.

Looks good
I guess the rack also serves and a good wheelie stand
I will have a look at the givi site. I am planning a couple of European trips this year and some form of luggage is needed.Edited by IsMad on Monday 28th January 13:29

The only problem with it is that if you load it up with a weekends stuff it can get quite heavy and then it acts like a pendulum as you throw the bike from side to side. I've had the front so uncomfortably light once or twice throwing it into a left off a roundabout... it can be like trying to play football while wearing a heavy rucksack

For commuting it's ideal. With a days worth of kit (which for my is typically a rucksack with the days clothes, a laptop and some books for my OU degree) it's no problem and you can have fun riding no worries. The only problem with mine is that you can't leave a lid in it becaise it's not big enough but then it would be huge and would look even worse.
However, for a weekend away it can get pretty heavy and I'd prefer to have the weight lower down so would look at smaller side boxes. Givi do racks which accept a big box on top and two side boxes so you could use the top one for commuting when you want a narrow bike and the side ones (plus top one if you're taking the wife - for her shoes, not to put her in) for holidays. Unfortunately givi didn't do one like that for my bike.
The downside of all this is that in truth it makes your bike look shit and you'll stop cleaning it, fit bar muffs and take to wearing a high viz vest so people think you're a courier

I've got the 12mm PH smiley and 'Johnny' on both sides of my screen. I'd been planning on getting something made up but jumped at the chance to get some PH ones.
I think it looks great, I'm sure some people will think it looks shite.
Was also thing of the PistonHeads.com Speed Matters 12" decal for the swingarm.

Not a bad idea that... worried that I might make it look a bit halfords if I stick too much on but that could look cool.I think it looks great, I'm sure some people will think it looks shite.

Yeah, i was worried it would look a bit chavtastic but am pleasantly surprised.
I think it looks great and gives it that 'authentic racebike' look!
The only other reason to not do it is due to it making you more identifiable to the gestapo. But as I don't ride like (that much of) a t
t most of the time it shouldn't matter.
Am now thinking about adding a 'Toxicated' hazchem style one to either side fairing.

No. It's my 748S that's in similar colours to the 916 senna. I think they did those colours as some limited edition run at the end of the 748 bikes... or something.
