FOA Havoc - NSX Pics
Discussion
Hi Martin,
Following on from our conversation yesterday, here are a couple of pics from my NSX week.......
Dirty in the middle of Wales...

Cleaned up back at mine....

I've got a nice little video clip somewhere from the Wales journey. The sound is awesome!
Having said that, and if your lovely lady is reading this, it's a terrible car and you really shouldn't consider getting one, ever. Ha Ha!

Just seen this...and you are a first-order JAMMY GIT!!! But thank-you.
Looks just lovely...I can't understand why it didn't sell either...maybe the rich are too shallow and image- (read: badge-) obsessed!
...but strangely enough the dirt seems to suit this one!?!
Regardless, I'd probably sell body parts to have one...in virtually any colour (not silver...can't have that sort of car in silver)
Oh...and if you find the vid e-mail it to me...haven't heard one driven in anger yet!

Don't like the looks or the interior, but yes I agree they are a good drivers car. But as you said in another thread you will never be able to afford one but you have as you said " met a fair few more cosecs than me" not

I might even see if I can grow a big-enough pair to bring the S2000 along (IF I've got that damn alarm ripped out in time!), you know, give everyone else something to say they were quicker than!!!

1) Do they still allow passengers (if I don't bring the S)? I think I recall one last year which was drivers-only...
2) When is it? (e-mail me if that's OK...)

With looks like that you wonder why Honda did`nt sell more especially when added to the fact it is a brilliant car to drive too.
The NSX was extremely expensive in the mid-90s, around £65K and it was at a time that other sports cars were getting far higher power as standard. They reduced the cost by £10K and the later 3.2 is a great car, but cars with far more power were then available, like the 996 turbo.
I was really hoping that a new model would appear around 2003, maybe a 4-litre V8, with 400 N/A bhp and updated everything.
yep.. the cost is crazy.. as you say, £65k.. today that would buy you a 997 Carrera S, CLK63 AMG, XKR, Corvette Z06, E92 M3, E60 M5... the list goes on, and while yes, the NSX is a fantastic car, it's hard to argue it against those listed above (bear in mind that they're brand new prices now, not 10 years ago), especially with the NSX's quoted 276bhp (yes I know they made more, but that's not the point)
Trouble is, I think they're still over-priced as a used buy..
basically £20k for a decent (but old, and high mileage) one.. for which you can get a much newer Boxster S, elise 111R, e46 M3, Evo 9, VXR Monaro etc etc etc
They fall into that bunch of cars that just don't seem to be as cheap as they should until they're really old and rickety (968 is another example.. for good 968 money you could buy a decent boxster S, which is just from a whole different league and era in terms of the whole package)
despite all that.. and if financial sense wasn't an issue, I'd still have one.. they're most definately

They make around 276 +-10bhp. You should be able to get a five year old for not much more than 30kTrouble is, I think they're still over-priced as a used buy..

I test drove an NSX 3.2 Coupe at Chiswick Honda last year.
53 plate, low miles. The power was not overly impressive, but then, under 300 bhp isn't anymore, really! But still, the engine and the car felt and was nice.
Anyway, i've never owned one and i decided that i'd try and do a deal.
Not only was the p/ex on my Mini Works GP £1,000 short of everywhere else, he wouldn't go less than £47,000 on the Honda. (Down from the £48,500 sticker price).
A 4 year old NSX is a LOT of money at £47K, imo.
That buys you a hell of a lot of 2003 car!

Fair points...although I don't think you'd find many people comparing E46 or Box-S and NSX in the same breath without it becoming very one-sided...
