The only problem with Hagerty is they are not interested if you do more than 5k per annum. I just renewed and A plan even beat Privilege this time.

Haggery would not quote me, as my insurrance is currently with Mannings, and they use same company to place insurance with (Alianz or something like that)......

so much for a free market.

Very interesting. There was a thread on the TVRCC website a few months ago. People were getting quoted ridiculously uncompetitively bt A Manning who run the clubs endorsed insurer scheme. (Nothing new as a lot of people have always found them to be wholly uncompetitive). They were then going to Hagerty and being quoted far less, both businesses using Allianz! Mannings claimed it was due to a glitch which had now been resolved. It sounds from what you say that Hagerty have merely been told not to quote against Mannings, which if true is a very poor state of affairs.

(The club are currently reviewing the insurance scheme).

As a package I don't think Mannings are that bad,

My quotes cheapest to expensive

Ashbourne
Adrian Flux
Manning
Tesco
Quote Line Direct
A. Plan

Haggerty wouldn't quote (sse above), and Footman James mileage to limited on mileage restrictions 4500 max.

The difference between top to bottom is £230, with the top 3 with in £35 of each other.

However Manning is the only one that is unlimited mileage, covers recognised track days.... so as a package I think its relatively competitive.

290 quid for a 500 chim with claim in last month and 6 points. Now thats what I call a bargain. A manning want 1200 quid. Figure that one out!!!

please don't start me off.........

maybe Allianz want to loose my custom just so i can cheaper qoute in a years time... this means I have to leave Mannings (Allianz).... insure elsewhere as Haggery will not quote as currently with Mannings, and then go with haggerty who on the face of it seem significantly cheaper according to others.. (I can't get quoet as with Mannings )

You and me both, Hoover. Haggerty refused to give me a quote too - asked me who I was currently with, I said Mannings. They said we can't give you a quote if you are with them - I grumbled a bit and asked why and was told to discuss it with her manager.

Don't understand this Mannings/Haggarty thing. So if I let my insurance expire (or notify them that I am not going to renew with them); and the next day call Haggerty would they be able to quote me? I'm not Mannings customer anymore as my policy has ended so what stop them quoting me?

Can Mannings quote if you are a Haggarty customer?

Haggary need a quick slap for that attitude.

As many people as can afford the time should call Haggerty for a quote.

If they ask "who are you insured with now", just say "it's not relevent". I'm asking YOU for a quote to compare with my present insurer.

Should be able to totally jam their switchboard tomorrow.

I think Hagerty are not allowed to quote if you are with Mannings from what I have read else where. I am sure it is a recent thing and that they will rectify it as soon as they can.

I am insured with Hagerty's, and I can't fault them.

The above seems to be correct. IIRC Mannings were not happy with Allianz as it is the same insurer with both brokers. Again (from the other forum) meetings were called between Mannings and Allianz, can't remmber the outcome but I wonder if Allianz have put pressure on Hagerty - i.e. there is some form of contractural problem.

Well after a few days away, I logged on the TVRCC forum and saw a post asking someone to try Hagerty for another quote.

So I called them and they refused me again. I mentioned that there was no reason at all why they couldn't quote me. They asked for my number and said they would call me back, which they did a few minutes later.

I was given 3 quotes based on different requirements, none of which I was too keen as I had already got more competitive quotes elsewhere by then. We had a nice chat all the same and they invited me on to their stand at the Car Show at Shepton Showground 16/17 Feb to say 'hello'.

I'm now happy that I managed to get a quote - after all, that's what we all do every year when we shop around trying to get the best deal to suit our needs. I think they are better placed to quote for older cars to be honest, so I'll try them again when my Griff is up for renewal.
