Anyone been nicked on the A2 heading towards Blackwall.

Drive the road every day and whilst bombing along got a text message, looked down at phone and forgot where the camera was. Didn't seem to be going any faster than the rest of traffic but camera went off. Must have been doing 65mph in a 50mph.

What am I likely to expect ? Is this quick enough for court appearance or just a NIP and postal guilty job.

Cheers

Don't let it spoil your Christmas. In my experience most don't have any film.
If you do hear anything I would predict the standard few points and fine through the post.

not slagging you off for speeding... but am gonna comment on your loss of concentation !!!!

Please switch the bloody phone off in future !

You couldn't even use this as good mitigation, and you might have had an accident while looking, so a ticket is a cheap option.

Hertsbiker,

I couldn't agree with you more and do not use the phone in the car. I was guilty of a lack of concentration. In my defence though, there were only 2 other cars on the road. Neither of which were near myself and the road is 3 lanes wide with no junctions at that point. I select when I choose to check something other than the view in front and do not do so at any random moment disregarding conditions or weight of traffic.

As many have said in their defences previously, can you tell me you have never lost your concentration or fiddled about with the stereo or ..........

My intention is not to attack you back but just make you aware that we are not perfect, yourself included. People like yourself just annoy me, what is the point in painting yourself to be whiter than white when I don't doubt for a second that you aren't when you're behind the wheel of your chosen vehicle.

If I want a lecture on my driving then I'll ask for one. Until then I post on this forum for information about "speeding and plod".

Ohidunno,

Thanks for your comments.

Rant over, beens a very long day already !

Cheers

I got flashed as I accelerated away from the one between the black prince and Bexleyheath, I was off the lines before I accelerated and there was one else there it could have been. Just have to sit it out, I got flashed by one near the elephant and castle in November but haven’t heard anything yet. Some sort of detector will be needed soon.

Hope you had a good Christmas, I fitted the throttle pot on Christmas eve so everything back to normal apart from a 4” crack in my windscreen, bloody 4x4’s!

Hello Paul,

Hope you had a good Xmas aswell. I've been flashed previously and recieved nothing in the post before. Obviously I'm hoping it will be the same this time. I was wondering whether anyone had got nicked on that stretch. I have a funny feeling that Gary got nicked along there in the Cerberra but can't remember.

Need to show you the car, been quite a few bits added. Cosmetic and mechanical. Different forum for that discussion though.

Cheers

Mark, you have my deepest sympathy. I had the "priviledge" of using this road last week. 2-3 cars, no junctions, three lane motorway - and 50 mph

I have rarely seen anything so stupid. No wonder so many people speed - you just can't take crap like that seriously any more.
