Rear tyres T350

new rear tyres needed for the T350, after reading a few threads is it possible to fit wider tyres than the standard 225's or do they catch on the arch etc. Has anyone fitted lower profile to rears such as 35 instead of 40?

I have 265/35 on the rear, but not on the standard spider wheels - I have the Silverstone SP12's which are much better. Fouling of the wheel arches could be a problem, but my arches were widened before I bought the car to accommodate 19 inch wheels with 275/30 tyres.

Andy, I have 255 35 Eagle F1s on the rear of my standard T350. No problem with fouling, looks the nuts as well with the extra width.

255/35 Toyo Proxes on standard rims with no problems at all.

ok thanks for the replies, gives me something to think about. Enjybenjy, if you could send me a pic of the 255's that would be great. If I fit 35's at the rear, I think I would have to lower the back end accordingly to take up the extra clearance, could be a good idea.

Sorry, was drowning at work today. I'll try and post a pic tomorrow. btw, you won't need to touch the ride height. The rolling distance of the wheel will be almost the same as before. The 35 is a ratio of width against diameter. 55's are wider, hence the drop in profile to keep the 'wheel' the same size...

Thanks very much, they show what I wanted to see and that was they still fit under the arches and look ok on the rims, convinced and I'll give them a try.
