The t/c off warning light came on a few time late last year. (switch engine off and restart then light would go out)

Some sort of modual was replaced under warranty.

Its done it again a few times over the last couple of days... booked in again to investigate.

Any thoughts on what the problem would be... seems to happend on Motorway.

Sounds similar to a problem with my CV8, which also had a T/C ECU replaced under warranty. It was not just a matter of 'TRAC OFF' coming up on the dash, the T/C was actually switching off of its' own accord.

The problem returned after the warranty expired. I feel that it should still be investigated and resolved at Vauxhall's expense, as it originally occurred, and was reported, well within the warranty period, and the main dealer failed to cure it. Vauxhall "Customer Care" want me to pay for the diagnostic work, and when (or should that be if) their dealer locates the problem and confirms that it is a manufacturing fault, they will consider covering the cost.

I will not let my car near a main dealer again, let alone pay for the privilege. Somewhat ironically, since I started my correspondence with Vauxhall several months ago, the fault has not recurred, though I would be very interested to know what solution your dealer comes up with.

Mine came on when my rear tyres were worn down. Not seen it since I've had new one's.

Hi,

I had this same problem on mine. Took Vauxhalls two years to solve it, during which they nearly replaced every part/sensor imaginable. Luckily under warrently. The fault is nearly impossible to recreate and happens so randomly but finally got a technican in the car with his laptop and it went wrong! So they at last they got a decent fault code. Ask them to test the throttle relaxer on the car, mine showed 8% at rest. Should be zero. They replaced this twice and they kept developing the fault. They agreed that this had all the hallmarks of an intermittent electrical spike causing the throttle relaxer to fail. They finally replaced the Traction control wiring loom. Voila, problem never has reappeared. This was a huge trial and error exercise but Vauxhall's at Sholing, Southampton sorted it. They are the experts now!!

Mine tracs light came on twice in one day last week - on the motorway both times - the tyres are all nearly new!

Clears when the car is switched off and on again. I assume this also means the ABS in not working when the light is on?
