Can anyone tell me how to take the stereo out?
it appears there is just one bolt on the underneath of the carrier. i have turned it right in and it seems to be loose but will not come out.

I was advised that you should allow a whole weekend to complete this job.
I understand that ther is a nut inside the pod which is turning with the screw.
So far I have resisted the challenge.

There is an electric specialist who does TVR's. I think his name is Carl.
I will look through the previous threads as he offered good advice on this.

Some out there know Carl's details ?!?!?!

There is only a single M8/M10 (13mm/17mm) bolt holding the pod on, but to reach the head of the bolt you first have to move the centre console backwards. This is done by pulling out the ash tray and rear vent, under both of these is a fixing screw remove these and carefully move the console until you con get your hand underneath the dash tray. You should be able to hold the bolt head with your fingers while undoing the nut from inside the radio pod.

eek

I was thinking about getting a new wireless for my PAJ but I suspect that even Halfords are going to balk at £10 fitting fee on that basis. Quick rethink required I think !

I'm not sure why you guys are looking at removing the pod to remove the stereo..

When I took mine out to add some phono cables to run to an amp, all I needed were some Pioneer removal tools which enabled me to slide the stereo unit out without having to go near the pod.

Is the casing that the pioneer radio slides into different & fixed in there somehow?
