I love the colour, but it seems hugely over priced... Im guessing it should really be about £18,500.00???

Does anyone on here know anymore about it?

Good car / Bad car ?

Thanks

Extremely optomistic for a private sale, he's obviously trying a lucky throw of the dice smile Tis a nice colour though, but not £4k nice! It could be due a clutch change and probably has the original shocks, so there's a couple of grand straight away.

Err, is this the Cerb owners forum? Or have I missed something? I can't believe that whenver this topic crops up, fellow Cerb owners are all too happy to talk the prices down! A car is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, I for one hope the seller gets what he's asking, just like we all will when it comes to selling our own.

Grrrrrrr soapbox

so i take it you'd happily pay £22,500 for it then, when similar examples are going for around £3000 less? since when did this forum become for owners only? I must have missed that memo.

Having owned two Cerbs and knowing the issues that surround them,if i wanted a 4.5 lightweight and it was A1,yes i would, cus in the long term if you buy a bad one,it will probably cost you a lot more.......and surely aren`t owners the best people to advise???

No need to be so arsey, i'm allowed an opinion just like you. I put my car up for sale last year, same miles only newer and in excellent condition. I was selling it for 19k, which even then was too high, but i thought i would chance my arm, probably like the seller of the above vehicle. I have a good grasp on cerb prices at the moment, and IMO, it will never sell privately for that money this time of year, simple market economics, absolutely nothing i can say to change that.

exactly, thats all i want as a perspective owner.... advice. Im not trying to talk prices down. Just want to add that even if it is in a1 condition is it still priced correctly? And anyway the main reason for this thread is i am hoping to stumble across someone who may be a previous owner or had some experience with it...

if thats the case i wonder why a private seller would take pictures outside a garage, unless its actually a dealers car, or maybe its an employees car....not that it matters. (im not suggesting anything but its got me thinking..., what advantages are there for a dealer to pose as a private seller?)

Jees, you've clearly got anger management issues! This is a discussion forum, therefore people generally are allowed to have their own opinions....

Could be a simple explanation - like its in the dealers showroom for sale on behalf but they've agreed to allow the seller to advertise privately as well. I've had that arrangement before.

I'm not a cerb owner.... but cars sell for what people are willing to pay.... I bought a griff 3yrs ago and paid £2k over what I thaught was the average market rate ..... but the reason being was I'd seen so much toot, and the car was imacualte..... you get what you pay for IMHO....

bear in mind the Griff was £33k new in 92...... I paid £15k in 95.... probaly worth £13k now ....

again if you look at sales prices you would say it was over priced..... but I could sell in less then 2 weeks at that price because I know there are peolple after the car as soon as it is advertised,

supply and demand for quality.

If you can get £22k for my car then, I’ll give you a grand biggrin
