Just wondering what others are running 48's at on their Exiges for general road use?

Im sure I remember reading somewhere that people considered the manual quoted presures were a bit high?

Tried searching but couldnt find anything so if anyone can point me in the direction of a thread that would be great...smile

23f, 26r on my Exige S. Try to keep those as "hot" running temperatures on track which seem just right for me. All of course depend on your driving ability /style and conditions etc.

A never ending debate are tyre pressures....

Mine were down at 21F/23R until I pumped them up to the manual recommended 29F/29R on the weekend.

The car is much easier to do 3 point turns with, but doesn't feel quite as planted on these slippery conditions.

Agree on 29/29, not good in wet and generally carp conditions. Dropped mine to 23/26 and feels a bit better. These cars are so light and steering so sensitive you really do feel the difference. I'll up mine as the weather improves, maybe 26/29?

I think the important thing to note if you plan on giving the tyres a good work over is the "HOT" temperatures. You can start at whatever "COLD" temperatures you like, but once heat passes into the tyre and you are out for prolonged periods at a time, your tyres will not wear evenly if they are either too hot or cold. At too high a temperature the tyre walls flex excessively and the car feels less stable.

At Cadwell on Sunday, on a dry track I started at 22f, 23r. 20 minutes later on a dry track I checked my tyres to find they had risen to approx 23/4f and 26/7 rear - which for me (and looking at the tyre wear on the day) was just right. But again, alot depends on the track, your driving (and breaking) etc
