See these cold, damp, misty mornings we're having? See carb icing? There you go.

Agreed....My SRAD gsxr suffered from carb icing. PITA. Go for the injectors.

I'd guess he's intending to put the engine into a kit car.

To which the answer is...... Hayabusa?

I did 25k miles on my '00 in all weathers (and I mean ALL inc. snow) and never had carb icing problems.

If it is for a kit car application, might also be worth reading the '10 years of R1' piece in Bike last month. They suggest that the later bikes sacrificed a bit of torque for top end power, and rated the 2000 model year carb bike as the best real world performer of all of them.

Thanks very much for the replies, yes it is going into a kit car, (it's the closest I can get to a bike these days as my mrs wont let me have one!) Would like a Busa but too expensive! So I will have a read of Bike and probably go for a Carbed one!

Here's a pic of my mates 1999 R1 engined single seater at Oulton last May. It didn't last the day, as it overheated badly and warped the head.

Does anyone know what that single seater car is called and more importantly is it road legal?
