proper traffic BiBs

Seems to me (and from experience)and from recent posts that if you get pulled by a "proper" traffic cop you stand a much better chance of a "sensible" roadside 8o11ocking rather than a tug than if you are pulled, lazered etc by PC Ordinary?
Certainly I've been done several favours on this one including being lazered at 80 through 50 roadworks on the motorway in less than ideal conditions. Got a very polite 15 minute 8o11ocking when I phoned them up and was prosecuted but plod submitted written evidence that the road was clear and weather was fine. Rush hour in light rain!! Saved a ban I reckon - I know he perjured himself but it was gently suggested that if I "played the game" I should avoid a ban!. (6 points & £230)
BTW he also gave me the limits they were working to that morning-no NiPs below 70 in the 50 zone!
