Shamelessly double posted here and on the trackday page, but here goes again...
I currently have fibreglass shell seats with some simple padding for road use, which is removable for the track. With it removed my head (even without a helmet) is only marginally below the level of the top of the hoop on the roll bar, and significantly above a line between it and the top of the front suspension turrets.
Speaking to my neighbour the other day he mentioned some mouldable foam seats which could be mounted only marginally above floor level while still providing decent support. Does anyone have any more information about these; a brief trawl of tinternet has drawn a blank.

Why not try the old technique of putting expanding foam in a plastic bag. You sit on it while it forms a shape that exactly matches you.
Agree - Demon Tweeks sell it. Just don't get the foam on you or your car while it's going off cos it sticks like hell. Other than that it's a dropped floor, taller roll bar, full cage or surgery.Edited by Yob Tar on Thursday 31st January 00:42
At present not on runners, but design of seat means that I am higher than I need to be. I'll have a go with the foam from demon-tweaks and let you know how I get on.
At the moment I'm doing it to get the helmet below the imaginary line between the roll bar/suspension turrets for track days. If I decide to race it in due course then I will invest in a full roll cage.
