e46 touring rear seats for three?

Hi,

Does anyone with an e46 touring use the rear seats regularly for three children? Currently have an e36 saloon & the rear seats are just about usable, however an e46 saloon I've tried has h-u-g-e bolsters which only allow seating for two - is this also the case with the touring - or are the seats a bit flatter (to allow the seats to fold)?

I would say it would be an uncomfortable arrangement the middle seat in mine has the fold down table etc so only a two seat bench really.

The real issue is how many booster seats will you need for the 3 kids?

Even the use of 2 doesn't leave much space for the third (and presumably largest) kid. That said, I've had two kids (one each side) and a third person in the middle in mine. Short trips only and no room for lardy-butts though!

It's all relative though, isn't it? When I were a lad there three of us in the back of various Vauxhalls, Marinas, etc and even a Fiesta at one point and it never occurred to us that there wasn't enough space. There was what there was. Not enough room in the back of a bimmer estate?? Pah, kids these days, eh? Don't know they're born!
