e36 auto buying? but with advisories with MOT!

Looking to get a cheap auto for a family member (particular and fussy). Found a e36 bmw 3 series 318 auto earlier model with under 90k miles. have checked the MOT but has come p with advisories, i know the 6 cylinder autos are fine but not sure of the 4 cylinder and if they used the zf gearbox or a differnt one?

its has passed its mot but has advisories, see below. issit worth it? what do you rekon?

Nearside Front shock absorber has a light misting of oil (2.7.3)
Rear exhaust system has part of the system slightly deteriorated (7.1.1a)
Various small stonechips in swept area of windscreen
Various suspension bushes perishing
Front number plate cracked
Front lower arm bushes perishing
All drop link bushes perishing
Power steering belt perishing
Offside steering rack has play
Both rear metal brake pipes corroding
Oil leak
Both front flexible brake hoses perishing
Rear axle leaking oil

yeh i agree, was in 2 minds as hadnt viewed it, as everything else is good with it ie few owners full history good miles, good body etc, wasnt sure if it was worth the risk for the problems!

Blimey, that's a comprehensive list of advisories. I guess the tester didn't have any other jobs that day!

I have an old BM barge that has all those little things wrong with it and more. All the MOT chap ever says is that it will need a new exhaust next year, and he doesn't even put that on as an advisory.

All of those things are typical of an E36 of that age. Time consuming to fix, if not particularily expensive, if you can get it cheap enough and d the work yourself, then go ahead, if not run away!

There are plenty out there that have already had the work done.
