Its taken me a while to get around to processing this lot, but its finally done!

It was a bloody hard day for me trying to take photos in the NEC as the lighting varied so much that it was difficult to judge and I dont have a speedlite which made things that little more time consuming...squatting on the floor waiting for the moment to snap away, but too many people getting in the way hehe

Enough ramblings, enjoy the shots smile

Some very nice shots, but it appears you may need to get your monitor calibrated. There's a pinkish cast on every photo.

My monitor is calibrated and I think the pinkish tinge came from the lighting within the NEC.

Serious question:

Why would there be a pink cast on these shots? Camera settings maybe?

I love the details shots

AndyM is right though - your white balance appears to be completely off in almost all of them (the two white Porsche shots are okay).

Didnt realise monitor calbration could do this though...

ETA - took ages to write it and everyone already said the above. :S

If you shot in RAW it would surely be pretty easy to correct. Not sure how you go about it in JPG but If you have PS something lke this will tell you: http://www.peachpit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=48...

Was going to do one myself but I only have Paint.NET on this pc frown

Quite often if you have a calibrated monitor that hasn't been calibrated in quite a while, whites etc can show a pink hue.

Scott - which post processing software do you use, and were these shot RAW?

Cheers fellas, we all learn a little every day so with everyone offering advice, we can all improve smile

Andy:

The shots were taken in RAW (only shoot RAW) and post processed in CS2 my good man

I dont suppose it could be anything to do with the cameras internal options could it? Maybe the colour temp?

I think I was shooting with MWB and opperating under the tungsten light setting which should've been appropriate for the days conditions?

If you shot in Tungsten WB (warm) but the room was mainly flourescent lit (cool) then it might do this? Not sure I cannot work it out.

If they are RAW then it is really easy to correct. Not sure what tool you are using but they all have a Colour Temp slider which will make your whites white (Like Daz)

This is because RAW doesn't actually store the colours or apply the white balance to it... so you can easily change it to another WB setting.

I always shoot in WB Auto and RAW, because as far as I can tell, this way the white balance is completley irrelevant until I open it in Photoshop. It's one less thing to think about.

I guess I'll have to look into it and maybe re-process the RAW files so I can adjust the WB without playing with jpgs yes

Nice shots.

At first glance I thought this was a scale model, something about the photo makes it look 1:18!

Jag, re the pink cast, I downloaded one sample pic of yours, and using the "Auto Color Correction" in Photoshop Elements 6 got this instantly corrected version:

Looks better?
