Would I be correct in saying that a dormant ltd company only needs to return an annual return and a DCA form (PDF here) to remain active (and without penalties!)?

Anything else to consider?

Yes.

The DCA Form replaces the need to print up and file statutory Dormant Accounts.

The important thing is that the company must be REALLY dormant.

It cannot have any finanacial transactions passing through its books AT ALL.

For example, if the company has a bank account and the odd bank charge or interest charge is still being levied by the bank, the company is not lergally dormant and cannot avail of the reduced filing requirements.

If the company is receiving any interest income, it is also not dormant and will also need to file a Corporation Tax return form to HMRC.

Thanks Eric, I'll give the bank a call to double check they haven't made any charges or paid interest (there's nothing in the account anyway)
