Where's my power gone? 330d sport

It might be, but it could be a number of things. Get an indi to do a fault check. Stealers will take a dim view of a remap and blame everything on that. This should pick up most things. The remap may have asked too much from the fuel pumps so they are no longer supplying the pressure needed. Fuel pump relay. Pressure sensor on fuel rail. and as said MAF (Mass Air Flow) meter. Just been through the same with mine and posted loads on here. Check my posts.

Just been for a run on the motorway then. When i floored it from a standing start it waits a sec then goes and goes until about 80mph at 2500rpm and seems to be hitting a rev limiter and doesnt really go above it. Went on to the roundabout and come back and it hit 120mph with no probs of revs at all. It does seem to have a lack of response from first flooring it at any speed. For instance, there would be no chance of wheelspinnig it (not that a would want to, just gives you an idea) as there's no instant power there. Its really embarrasing as try when i try to overtake someone sometimes i cant get past its ridiculous.
I see people have mentioned MAF. What is it and what would it cost to get checked or replaced?

Ive had this before on 330d"s , its been the airmass meter on both cars , down side is you cant just put one on, you need to have it coded in by the dealers, First one I did I got afm from andrew Pages and put it on and car was worse till it was coded in Airflow meters when they go normally make the car hesitant and give them a flat spot , having more power will make the problem seem worse as the boot will come in harder iyswim . Was the car ok when Jamie first did it , if the map was too strong any faults would have appeared on your first test drive in my experience. My next door neighbour has had the strongest setting in his X5 3.0d for the last 2 years with no problems.

Ive got him up here on the 15th to do an E90 330d manual, looking forward to that, I reckon that will fly.
Personally I would get your car on a diagnostic first and get the fault codes read, bmws have so many sensors, water/fuel air temp etc that when they have a fault the first thing they do is cut the turbo killing performance. If it turns out to be airmass meter and it goes into the dealers, they could over write the software and you will have to get him back out again to install the modified map as they will install standad software.
