What are BMW discounts like at the moment?

just checked on drive the deal, and the discount offered was £81

What was the specific model? Some cars that are in short supply wont have the same discount offered as, say a 320d saloon.

They aren't as good as they used to be.. End of last year saw some people getting reasonable discounts.. But that changed in the new year and a good discount is harder to come by.

it was a 335i I was looking at. A good check of the net revealed discounts nearing 10%...

No, seriously, do BMW still have any deals on, surely buying 5 would mean a nice lump off new, looking at 320dse's

The dealer margins have reduced in recent months and its getting harder for dealers to make a decent operating profit. Also all independent dealers (e.g. on the interweb) now have to buy their stock direct from BMW, so my understanding is that little loophole has been closed too. Then the bar has been raised for dealers before they earn their bonuses whilst they are expected to invest substantial sums to represent the BMW brand. It's a pretty tough environment out there, especially for the family owned franchises.

There's always a deal to be done at the end of the month or quarter, but its less than before.
