Hi all.

I'm a little stuck / confused ....

I'm in the process of putting a Zetec into my kit car and am using my BC gearbox and clutch.

I keep reading many times all over the net, accounts of people doing this conversion, and they always say to change the clutch release bearing for Capri or Transit van etc etc. Does anyone know why this is suggested ??

Also, My clutch is very heavy, as it was before when the CVH motor was in, could this be why others are suggesting to change the OBearing ... would it effect the clutch ' action ' ...??

Sorry it's a long one. ( ooh matron )

the release bearing needs to be longer to reach the pressure plate, thats why a capri one is used,or move the pivot point as i have done, the cable route having a tight bend will cause a heavy clutch hth

Can I high jack this topic, Thanks. Obviously you need to tell DVLA that you have changed the engine. My question is this does your shiny new Zetec have to have injectors and a Cat!! or as your Car has been on the road before without is it just taken as a change. Anyone any ideas?
P.S. have been looking at a westie with a crossflow and thought a Zetec would be a good upgrade route.
