what sort of power you guys getting from the bam 20v t lump without mayjor cost??

250-260bhp with a simple remap. Up to 330bhp with a bigger turbo. Probably cost about 3-4k.

Depends on what the engine is in as to what's practical - the K04 with decent induction, exhaust and an intercooler will see a safe 300 BHP with aftermarket management.

Obviously in a modern car filled with toys this isn't easy so an IHI turbo conversion is on the cards for 330-340 BHP before you need to start thinking about the life of the internals.

225 TT for example will easily give you 265 for about £300.

I had a very reliable 285bhp / 325lb/ft torque with a standard turbo. This was fitted to a corrado and was using DTA management set up by Wayne at Dubsport. I outran an S4 when he hit his speed limiter at 155... and I coasted past him.. ah, the good old days!

got a 225 bam engine with ko4 turbo and 6 speed cupra r box to go in my clio 172. been betting a few mixed signals aboub whats a safe output for this engine on standard internals. obviously i could change them but havent got buckets of money to put into the project.

I think about 300 is as far as some take it. I'd want a comfort zone over the absolute maximum, just so that I wasn't driving everywhere waiting for a rod to pop through the bonnet!
