Track Day Fee Variations...

Question...
Being fairly new to the track day scene, in my research i notice that some organisers have a differing fee levels.
trackdays.co.uk are running an open pitlane @ silverstone on the 14th March for £199 and goldtracks 1st March is £249, i noticed that Goldtracks extra driver fees are £50, and passenger fees are £10, while the other event fees for this were £1 only..
Cost is a consideation for us, as with fuel, tyres, travel etc its not a cheap day out, and i'm unlikely to win the lotto tonight either..!
I must be missing something, are there key differences in the events apart from open pitlane vs sessioned..?

Thanks Ted, i noticed the days were different, Goldtracks 2nd driver fees and entry fees are more, but on the whole is there much to choose from between companies running these events..? in terms of a pro-run day ..
I did Dec 15th as our 1st Goldtrack event, and found it to be professionaly organised, Melindi was very helpful, and soon demonstrated her sense of humour to boot..!
On the day, we didnt get the best use of the tarmac, and only got 3 full sessions 2 part sessions and 2 cancelled sessions due to accidents..
A guy in his black 996 totalled it on the 1st lap of the 1st session on the 1st corner which didnt help too much, one sorry lookin car on a trailer for the day.. gutted..
You have my next Porsche by the way ... bloody lovely ..! I may come and find you to say hello at coming events..! it would be rude not to tap you up for a lap also..

Hi mate, Gold Track is always a premium, as they are one of the best track day companies in the UK. I don't see how Circuit days can run OPL at £199 though, unless it will be another shambles of over bookings like Donington last year!
To give you a gauge, Bookatrack are charging £375 for an OPL Silversone GP day in May, vs Gold Tracks £299 (sessions). Those are the prices you should expect to pay for Silverstone GP.
Sent you an e-mail back just now, look forward to coaching you

As Ted pointed out,one is on a weekday and the other is on a weekend, this will indeed affect the price as the circuit will be more costly to hire on a weekend.
However if you go on a track day in the week it may well be quieter than on a weekend so you may get more satisfaction as regards quality time on track. This could prove to be handy if you are as you say
" Being fairly new to the track day scene "
If you can go during the week it should be a quieter event or at least that is what i have found.
As the saying go's "you pay your money - you make your choice" or something along that line .

Hi Sean, I was at Donington on that day & to be fair if you would of counted the amount of cars out on the track at any one time you would of found that there were only 18-19 cars out there not the 30 that were aloud, this was down to Donington I have no interest or gain by promoting circuit days but i did around 20 days with them last year and apart from the donington incident found them to be very good well run days. I did do other days at donington after the nightmare event and that problem seemend to be now resolved. In my opinion after 40 years racing & over 20 years instructing & having used many other track day organisers to compare with i have found them to do a very good job & fantastic value for money with no extra driver or passenger fee's .
