Soon I shall be in the position to pick up my engine for the bruised testicle, but I need some info on parts if you guys could be of help?

Basically Ive bought the engine and drive assembly from a Ford XR4X4 and obviously I need to remove the shafts & hubs, change the sump and pickup, weld baffles in and change the flywheel (all information from a former Ford Performance specialist biggrin) but where do I find old Ford parts? Its been soo long since I bought any?

I used a few suppliers when I rebuilt my engine (2.8 V6)

Burton Power were very good, if you spoke to the right person there, some staff were just telesales numpties others had a fantastic knowledge of these engines.

JW Developments, is extremely experianced in Ford V6 engines, he wont sell you shiney 'chav' upgrades, but will sell you quality proven components. He had a custom ground cam made for me (by kent) - same price as any other cams in their range, but transformed the car.

I also used Ebay quite a lot, there are a lot of V6 parts on there, I steered away from used parts and bought new old stock, sadly just missed out on a pair of new heads recently, would of been good for the just in case shelf. There was also a new block on their recently!

Regards and good luck.

Chris.

Thanks for that Chris, I think I may be making a few phone calls.

When you had the custom ground cam made, what were your requirements? How much did it cost as Ive seen cams for as little as £158 for race cams?
