Quick question - boot solenoid
Discussion
Hi,
Just want to check which way the wires connect to the boot solenoid. From the wiring harness we have two wires red and red/blue. The wiring diagram says red is the battery and red/blue is the lock control. The solenoid instructions say green is the lock and blue is the unlock wire.
Does this mean the green solenoid wire connects to the red/blue harness wire? Could somebody take a quick look for me please.
Thanks.
Tim.

Thats it. The replacement solenoid's wiring colours probably aren't the same as the originals, so just connect it up before you bolt it in, press button and see what happens.
The solenoid should pull.
Thats what I did on the replacement I got from Maplin, worked fine.
Andy.
I have the replacement from Maplin too (the wires are the same color as the orig, blue and green). Trouble is I have bolted it in already (a little tricky) and when I came to reconnect the wires I couldn't remember which way round they went. I don't really want to take it back out if somebody could just take a quick look. The solenoid should pull.

OK I just looked. The car's colours are green and blue. The solenoid are red and red/blue.
Mine goes green > red, and blue > red/blue.
But as I said if you get it the wrong way round it doesn't matter, it just won't work.
Push a screwdriver into the lock to simulate the boot being closed, then you won't risk shutting ghe boot and not being able to open it!

p.s. by the way I tore my carpet off the inside of the boot just for you!

Thanks, I will make sure I have them the right way around tonight. Mine goes green > red, and blue > red/blue.

While I have been fidling trying to repair my electronics I have found a shocking discovery about the security of the cerbera - a way where without any tools or wire cutting you can disable the alarm in about 3 seconds. I might change the alarm system on my car as I think the current factory one is flawed.
Oh, and I am sorry about your carpet - I owe you a pint (or a can of spray adhesive).
