Having had my speedo repaired I've just been out putting the dash back together and being fubmle fingered managed to drop the drivers side retaining nut. It helpfully disappeared into the depths of the dash never to be seen again. Does anyone know what size the nut is so I can pop down to the DIY shop and buy a wingnut to replace it.

I dont want to go back under the dash and remove one of the other bolts again to get the size unless I really have to !

Cheers

I've recently bought a dash from another PH user and he stated to replace the nuts with 6mm wingnuts. I'm sure this is correct, good luck!

Spend, how easy is it to wire up a new style heater control to an old style loom?

Never looked at it Andy. IMHO its better to keep it simple, and the use of TVR 'special' magic boxes in the later controls has never appealed to me. If its just an alloy knob you want Leven do covers wink

Historically there seem to be a lot less problems (and simpler when they do occur) with the early Chim controls in contrast to the later Chims & Griffs (heater motors). Don't get caught in the 'newer is better' syndrome.

The only real criticism I have of the early heater is that it should be on a separate circuit from the dash instruments (big hint)

Just waiting for my new head unit to arrive, thought it was probably better to do it all at once. By the way, where is the best place to get LED replacement bulbs for the dials? I saw a thread on the Cerb forum and they'd done the same with bright white LEDs, looked fantastic!!

Check this thread out, the last post lists part numbers for blue LEDs but I am sure you could use the same list to find white versions.
