Obviously my opinion can hardly be considered independent (as the primary track day provider at the circuit) however i'd like to think I was capable of offering a reasoned review of the new circuit(s) based on my experience as a track day driver (rather than organiser).

Club Circuit - not driven it personally and not sure i'd ever want to unless it was in the wet for some gooning practice - a couple of nice corners with good run off but only about 0.8miles long.

National Circuit - includes the old School corner which remains to this day one of the best corners on any UK race circuit. The run up to Rocket is better than the old run into Abbotts and it's a great choice for winter events as the speeds are kept lower and (apart from School) it's not as technical as the 2 other bigger circuits.

Coastal Circuit - rapidly proving itself to be the most popular configuration. Includes the excellent Corkscrew (named after the legendary corner at Laguna Seca) - a downhill chicane which leads into a very tricky off-camber left hander.

International GP Circuit - the longest configuration. Basically the Coastal circuit without the corkscrew but with a couple of extra straights and a hairpin (often compared to Donny GP vs Donny National). However, often overlooked is the addition of the left hander at the bottom of the hill after Peel (in the absence of a name currently I call it Mansfield - it reminds me of the corner of the same name at Cadwell Park). Again its a tricky off camber corner that can really catch you out if you make the mistake of turning in on the brakes.

All 4 circuits have been designed to be challenging in their own way - with excellent run offs everywhere (except the pit wall obviously!) and an imaginative mix of corners. there's loads of elevation changes, too - something that many track day drivers feel is a 'must' in order to make a circuit interesting. If I had to make a comparison i'd say it was somewhere between a wider cadwell park and oulton park - but with run-off.

Ask yourself this - how many other UK circuits have been designed from scratch with a blank canvas?

Hope this helps and that it's taken in the unbiased nature intended.

That was my biggest concern, from the photos it looks completely flat. I still regreat not getting my act together and driving the old circuit as it looked like a really good track.

they can certainly be deceiving - there's something like a 15 metre drop from Peel down through the corkscrew!

My opinion is a good track, very fast, smooth, wide, great for learning car control. One of the better UK circuits for any type of car.

Cadwell and Oulton are more of a challenge.
