Me and the fine Mrs Phil Dicky test drove a 3200GT on Saturday, fully intending on placing a deposit. The good lady loved it, however I just couldn't get comfortable behind the wheel at all. Now I'm 6'3" tall so not that big, but which ever way I had my seat I couldn't get my head off the headlining, so much so I was driving with my head tilted.
The complication is I nearly bought a 2000 model 2 years ago and was more than comfortable driving that one. The one we drove on Saturady was a 2001 model.
So is there something I missed on Saturday about the seat adjustment/ can they be lowered further and have the seats been changed 2000 - 2001 which would explain the difference.

I had the same problem as you Mr Dicky.

My first 3200 (2001 model)had no problems with headroom (I'm also 6' 3" and long bodied rather than long legged).

With my second (and current) 3200 (2002 model), however, I have to raise the front of the seat slightly and keep the back as low as it'll go. I also paid to have some foam taken out of the seat but I'm doubtful that made any difference.

There's no room behind me for people with legs, though.

Work on it, I am just under 6 foot and my hair brushes the headlining. Worried about wearing a helmet for my sole trackday, but managed to find a good position.
Open your legs, recline the seat back and tilt the base (as suggested raise the seat base at the front only), basically drive like a short legged long armed Italian would.

Tried this idea, but to be honest only lower back was supported by the seat and I felt too uncomfortable. I do suffer from a bad back and can't afford to risk aggravating it. This would be my everyday car so needs to be spot on.
Some things I don't think are mean't to befrown

I am 6 ft and found 99 car ok, however I recall seat was very high - once leg length position known, mark position and take rails out and bolt direct to floor? - must give you 2 inches minimum?

Would still work - the seat will raise up a long way, so Mrs D would still be in the groove. Been meaning to do this on my 911 for years, supposed to be the ultimate in driving feedback to be bolted to the floor.....
