Just a quick question:
Is there any reason why a 460A battery (quite a bit smaller in size) would have been used instead of the recommended 600A ?
The car now stars MUCH better, the engine turns over a lot faster, just can't figure out why a previous owner would have fitted a smaller one.

I would guess because it was available. Is there any reason why a 460A battery (quite a bit smaller in size) would have been used instead of the recommended 600A ?

I had an expensive race type battery in mine for a while, and it would spin the car over fine. What it didn't do so well at was sitting running the alarm for days at a time in the winter. I've now gone back to a normal lead acid type.
I'd say as long as your battery is starting and running the car fine, not to worry. Replace it with a bigger one when it dies.
